Liz + Amish Rainy Day Engagement Session | Stanford University

I was a bit nervous when the weather.com showed that it would be pouring rain on Liz and Amish’s engagement session since I have never shot in rainy weather outdoors before. I could tell Liz was a bit bummed too but I hope these pictures show that even with rain, nice pictures can result!

(btw, rainy weather automatically gives you a color boost! Something about the water intensifies the colors).

By the end of the day we were all drenched. I had a blast shooting in the rain and hopefully Liz and Amish had fun splashing in the puddles too…it’s a good thing my lenses are weatherproof to a certain extent haha.

Maybe I should just soley become a rainy-day photographer and work on my skills there since it was so fun. Naw just kidding. Also thanks to Derek Tang again for coming out!

You should check out what I was wearing in preparation – board shorts and sandals topped off with my North Face shell baby! (yes those are my hairy legs, sorry you had to see that). My camera was wrapped up in one of these cheapo things. It’s rather cumbersome.

A progression of the deterioration of seriousness. haha, I would crack up in an instant too if I was told to hold a straight face.

Engineering buildings always look so awesome. Ironically my Design building at UCDavis is supposed to be the 2nd oldest building on campus. Keep in mind that UCDavis started 100 years ago.

Here’s a standard couple-ly pose! I chose to show it just because it reminded me how awesomely happy Liz and Amish are together. An inspiration to me.

Lucky enough to find some sweet light!

Dude, I love that Liz is wearing purple.

I’m always in awe at engineering students. I’m pretty stupid in the sciences nowadays.

Does rain make a shoot more romantic? I think so.

Normally a photographer wouldn’t be this close to water with his camera…but to miss this shot? heck no. I’ll sacrifice my camera for it, at least the memory card will be safe inside the camera! Click the picture for a larger preview (May not work in all broswers)!

Yep we were all soaking wet at the end of the day.

Happiness at Stanford. Even on rainy days there are weddings going on. Amazing and I thought we were the only crazy ones.
