The Sacramento Zoo

If photography is all about light then the best lighting situations are what I need to seek out! I had a chance to go with my friends to the Sacramento Zoo this weekend. It’s a very small zoo and the animals were in very small, shaded cages so lighting wasn’t the best. But it’s in these situations where I have constraints that force me to look harder and try to be more creative.

Personally I was there only to see the tigers. I didn’t get the dream shot I had in mind but that is ok (needed a 400mm lens for that).

I think this guy was trying to show me his best side.

Turtle head poking out! (ok that was gross, a reference to the movie Austin Powers)

I REALLY love these big lazy cats!

Pink! A close up of the feathers on a Flamingo. Do you like the creamy Bokeh in this pic? I do.

This guy happened to be sitting in the right place. And don’t ask me why the egg isn’t being incubated because I don’t know either
